PCB Board Reverse Engineering Distiction
In the process of PCB Board Reverse Engineering, distinguish the ground line, power supply line and signal line precisely. Take the power supplycircuit as an example, secondary of power supply transformer which connects to cathode of rectifying tube can be defined as anode of power supply, and normally high capacity filtering capacitance between it and ground line, this capacitance will have polarity mark. Power supply line and ground line can also being found through the terminal voltage regulator tube. When designer do the PCB board reverse engineering, copper of ground line has the max width (high frequency circuit will have large size of ground copper), power supply copper is second, signal copper is the narrowest in order to prevent self-creation and anti-jamming. Furthermore, in electronic products both have analog circuit and digital circuit simultaneous, PCB board will separate individual ground line to formulate individual ground line network which can also being viewed as evidence.
In order to avoid crossing and interaction of circuit wiring of reverse engineering schematic due to the redundant leads on individual component, power supply and ground line can greatly apply the terminal make and grounding signal. If there are too much components, unit circuit can be separated and then join together.
When draw a sketch map, we recommend to use transparent paper and then use multi-color pen to make distinguished colors for ground line, power supply line, signal line and components, if have to modify, can deepen the color to make it more direct and easier to analyze PCB board reverse engineering.
Get acquaintance with the basic establishment and typical drawing of some unit circuit, such as rectified bridge, stabilized voltage, OPAMP, digital integrated circuit, etc. all of these unit circuit can be draw out prior to other parts through which the frame of reverse engineering schematic can be built, can effectively increase the efficiency. When reverse engineering PCB board schematic, engineer should try to find similar one as reference to facilitate the whole schematic recovery process.
