Sales growth in German PCB market
In September 2013, turnover for German PCB manufacturers increased 10.6 percent YoY, reports the Industry Association ZVEI PCB and Electronic Systems.
Cumulative sales figures for the first three quarters of this year stand at the same level as in 2012.
Order intake increased abnormally by 27.6 percent, which is the highest increase recorded for this year. The jump is seasonal: The summer holidays have ended and key sectors have placed long-term orders in September and signed framework agreements. The returning optimism in the solar and automotive industries is clearly visible. Order intake in September reached average levels of previous years.
During the first nine months, order intake increased 3.2 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2012.
The book-to -bill ratio jumped to 1.15 in September.
The number of employees decreased in September by 3.5 percent YoY. Figures were impacted by the closure of an internationally operating company and the ending of summer holidays.
